Level One Family Pet Class
For Obedience

FOR PUPPIES AND DOGS OF ALL AGES (9 weeks is the best age for pups)

Puppies can and should go right into Level One. Due to our unique program structure there is no need to spend time and money on a watered down puppy course prior to doing your real basic training in a Level One Program. In most schools you invest time and money in a puppy program then have to follow it with a Level one family pet obedience course after that. At Scholars Puppies go right into Level One resulting in a much more trained dog much sooner. This is due to our unique Puppy Drop In Social class.

Level One Family pet class is designed to give you the necessary tools to achieve an educated, obedient and happy dog using scientifically proven fully positive methods. Dog training is a well studied field and ideas of dominance, threat, fear and "balanced" techniques were de-bunked 2 decades ago. They have also been studied and proven to have a risk of negative behavioral side effects including aggression. It is unnecessary to have an adversarial relationship with your dog in order to educate your canine companion.

You will learn to teach your dog sit, down, stand, stay, wait, come when distracted, to walk on a loose leash and most importantly to pay attention and do all of this under distraction. You will also work on chilling out calmly, possession prevention and other behavioral aspects. A key to our program is that you learn how distractions and temptations can work for you instead of against you.

Regular Price $359.00 plus tax.

FOR ALL CURRENT AND WOULD BE DOG OWNERS (no dogs please)

This drop in program is essential to kick off and compliment your obedience and behavior work. Your puppy will learn to be behave appropriately with dogs, people, strangers, examination, grooming, separation and physical challenges while learning to pay attention to you. Critical development for puppies is actually between 3-12 weeks of age so starting as close to 9 weeks as possible is recommended. This program is the key that allows us to put puppies into Level One Obedience without having to do a puppy program ahead of time so you save time and money. It also means you end up with a puppy that is more socially balanced and much more trained much sooner. Puppies must have proof of most recent vaccination and must have been with you for two weeks.

Testimonials

Hear from our recent graduates

Outstanding! it was 15 years ago that we first took classes from Diane McWhinnie with Scholars in Collars! 15 years later, new puppy in tow, we found this Dog Training school even more competent than before. They are attentive, kind, helpful, knowledgeable and very skilled! Our family will always highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a positive training school with experienced trainers! Thanks Scholars in Collars!

Joanne Grysak

Diane and all the trainers are amazing! They really help you understand and communicate with your dog. They always provide positive support and they really care about your dog. We appreciated all their personalized advice and guidance. Our puppy did so well with their help and we learned so much. The seminar was so informative and the puppy drop ins were so fun! We can't wait to start Level 2!

Sarah Honeyford Austin

This is a place I take each of my puppies, whether they are going to be loved pets living as my companions or well loved working dogs in dog sports. The classes are well run, the ratio of trainers and assistants to dogs ensures that even little quirks which need to be turned into talents or better behaviours are not overlooked. It is always informative and fun for my dogs and for me, even as a trainer myself. The years of experience show through at every turn!
